STUART BIRD

Councillor for Western Felixstowe Ward, East Suffolk Council

Stuart is 54, was born in Ipswich and has lived in Felixstowe for 26 years. He has been a District Councillor for 8 years, previously at Suffolk Coastal District Council and now on the new East Suffolk Council, representing Western Felixstowe Ward.

At District he is on the Planning Committee and in 2019 has been appointed Chairman of the Scrutiny Committee. Stuart is also a Town Councillor, representing Felixstowe Port Ward and is Vice Chairman of Planning and Environment Committee.

At Suffolk County Council he has represented Felixstowe North and Trimley Division since 2017, and this includes the Walton area of Felixstowe and the Parishes of Trimley St Mary and St Martin. Stuart has always been passionate about politics and is currently Chairman of Felixstowe Branch Conservatives. His other interests include reading especially history and biographies, and walking.
