Suffolk Coastal MP supports Southwold High Street bid

SUFFOLK Coastal’s MP Dr Therese Coffey has thrown her support behind Southwold’s bid for the Best Coastal Town category in the Great British High Street competition.

The application bid has been put together by Southwold Chamber of Trade and the My Southwold High Street town team.

Therese said: “I am delighted to support Southwold’s entry in the Coastal Town section of the Great British High Street competition by writing a letter of support.

“The town is extremely proud of its vast array of independent shops, promoted by the My Southwold initiative, which sets it apart from so many other high streets.

“The inaugural Southwold Arts Festival which included the Street Festival put on this year is a further demonstration of innovative initiatives to boost the success of the town.  I wish the bid every success”.

The town was successful in becoming a Portas Partner in 2012, which included support for pop-up shops and business mentoring.
