On the campaign trail: week three.

CONFIRMATION this week that Ed Miliband wants to worm his way to power by doing a deal with the very people who want to tear our United Kingdom apart.

Labour knows it cannot possibly achieve an overall majority in the House of Commons on May 7. But to stop the Conservatives forming a government if David Cameron falls short, he has been offered a deal by the Scottish National Party, which looks likely to win virtually all the seats north of the border.

Miliband keeps denying he will seek a formal deal with the SNP. What he is not saying is that he will cobble together a deal with the SNP and other left-of-centre parties - perhaps not a formal coalition, but a coalition in all but name.

He is being taunted by the fiesty Nicola Sturgeon, the SNP leader who is not seeking a Commons seat but who will remain SNP leader after the election. She wants to "lock David Cameron out of Downing Street" in return for an end to austerity by introducing spend, spend, spend policies, including restoring state benefits to the feckless and the workshy.

Sturgeon told Sky News this week: "Ed Miliband knows as well as I know that if there is an anti-Tory majority after the election, then the only way David Cameron gets back into Downing Street is if Ed Miliband is prepared to stand back and let him back in Downing Street. If Ed does that, then Labour voters in Scotland will never ever forgive him and I suspect Labour voters across the UK will never forgive him. Is he really saying that he’d rather watch David Cameron back into Number 10 than work with the SNP to keep him out of Number 10?

"That’s for him to answer. I'm fighting for more progressive politics across the UK and I’m fighting to get rid of the Tories but crucially to see the Tories replaced with something better, something bolder something that’s going to deliver progressive policies for ordinary people not just in Scotland but all of the UK. Our MPs will vote for a bill to restore England’s NHS to its founding principles, ensuring it remains the accountable public service it was always meant to be – and protecting Scotland’s health budget in the process."

Unless English voters wake up to the danger of letting the SNP have the power of veto over policies and spending which only affects England, they we will be putting our United Kingdom in peril with a constitutional mess leading to the end of the UK.

Conservative candidates and activists have been out putting this message across on the doorsteps, high streets and shopping malls across England and Wales - the Welsh will suffer even more if Scotland imposes its spending demands on a weak Labour government.

I was up in Leiston on Wednesday, with Suffolk Coastal Conservative candidate Therese Coffey, who has been our excellent MP since 2010. Last night, I went canvassing with our two outstanding district and Felixstowe Town Councilcouncil candidates for Felixstowe West, Stuart Bird and Tracey Green - elections to the district council and various town and parish councils on the same day as the General Election.

The reception we received was very positive. Nobody was hostile and voters were interest to hear the Conservative message.

Today I was in Enfield North, a constituency which we must hold if we are to keep David Cameron in Downing Street. Nick de Bois, who is seeking re-election, has been an exceptional and hardworking MP and thoroughly deserves another term in Westminster. At campaign headquarters, I bumped into Mark Francois - who is defending the rock solid Conservative seat of Rayleigh and Wickford; as cheery as ever, he was about to go out on the stump on behalf of Nick.

Next week, I'll be in the Trimley villages, Felixstowe North, either Aldeburgh or Leiston, and Felixstowe West. Don't forget - you have only until Monday to register to vote for May's elections.  Don't disenfranchise yourselves.

Miliband utrzymuje zaprzeczając będzie on dążył formalną umowę z SNP.
